XMI Mechanical Grips
This mechanical grip holder series has the capability of adapting to any size tensile testing machine and has proven its precision and durability in thousands of applications in all environments. Our grip faces are hardened to 59 – 61 Rc and are precision ground on the back to assure maximum gripping action. This series is also available in materials for use in extreme temperatures and corrosive environments.
Model XMI-48
This set of light grips was designed for specimens in the lower load ranges. These grips are economical however, they are manufactured using the same materials and to the same tolerances as the larger capacity grips. The maximum capacity for this model is 4000 pounds. The range for flat materials is 0 to 3/16 and the range for rounds is 1/8 to 3/8.

Model XMI B-20
This grip was designed for testing light weight, thin, flexible specimens in tension or for low load fatigue or compression testing. The maximum capacity for this model is 2000 pounds. Also available are inserts as narrow as 1/8” up to ¾” wide. High temperature and corrosive environment models are also available.
